How much does Google Ads cost?
You choose the budget. The auction chooses the price.
Facts checked 11 Oct 2026 · by the AdSworn team
Google Ads costs what you decide to spend, but the price of each click is set by an auction. You set an average daily budget: Google says a campaign never spends more than twice that on one day, and never more than 30.4 times it in a month. What a click costs depends on the search. Some marketing searches cost advertisers $60 to $120 a click in the US, according to DataForSEO's Google Ads data. A flat-price sponsorship is the alternative when you want to know the cost up front.
How the budget works
- You set an average daily budget. Google describes it as what you'd be comfortable spending per day.
- One day can go to 2×. Google says a campaign never spends more than twice its average daily budget on a given day.
- The month is capped at 30.4×. In a billing period you're never charged more than 30.4 times the daily budget. A $10 daily budget means at most $304 a month.
- Each click is priced by auction. You set a maximum cost per click, and Google's help page says you'll often pay less.

A worked monthly budget
| Example (not real data) | Value |
|---|---|
| Daily budget | $30 |
| Most you can be charged in a month (30.4×) | $912 |
| Average cost per click | $4.00 |
| Clicks a month at that price | About 228 |
| Sign-ups at a 3% conversion rate | About 7 |
| Cost per sign-up | About $130 |
The same budget buys more or fewer clicks as competitors raise or lower their bids. That's the trade-off of an auction. See Google Ads too expensive?.
A fixed-price alternative
A direct sponsorship has no auction: you see the page's traffic and the searches behind it, pay one listed price, and the price doesn't change while it runs. On AdSworn a banner starts at $25 for 4 weeks and a sponsored post at $75 for 12 weeks. Many advertisers run both: search ads for people ready today, sponsorships on the pages those same people read while deciding.
